Is your dog beyond bored being stuck in the house with limited time outside and shorter walks due to sub zero temps?
Well, the weather forecast for the rest of January doesn’t appear to letting up and spending time inside the house is going to be on the agenda for fido.

A quick search of the web or Pinterest will yield lots of results for fun indoor games and activities, and DIY projects to keep your pet busy and happy until the deep freeze passes.
For starters, signing your dog up for an agility, obedience or nosework class is a fun way for you to bond with, and allow your dog to release pent up energy while learning new things and having fun! Many classes are held in the evenings or on weekends so they are convenient for you to get to after work or when you have extra free time.
If classes are not your dog’s thing, you can try fun at-home activities for the two of you like hiding a treat for him or her to find, playing fetch, or engaging your dog with a treat puzzle. Check out some of the treat puzzles and activity toys from Nina Ottosson or Kyjen’s line of Dog Games, or just search for “dog puzzles” on the internet. There are a large variety of different types of toys in all levels of difficulty from easy to extra challenging.
You can also prepare delicious treat toys at home using a KONG or empty marrow bone. Fill a KONG or bone with goodies such as wet dog food, peanut butter, apple sauce, mashed bananas or anything your dog likes mixed with treats, freeze overnight and voila! You now have a delicious, nutritious and long lasting treat toy to keep your pup busy with while he or she waits out the cold snap.
